Pest management and sanitation services using environmentally sound methods with focus on inspections
and a variety of technological and sanitary management practices. Control strategies in our program use
pesticides as a last resort and focus on structural modifications to eliminate food, water and harborage. |

What
is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)? |
Positive, long-term control of pests using a wide variety of sanitation and management practices to prevent or
eliminate pest infestations without the use of environmentally harmful materials. Methods include cleaning, monitoring and altering the
pest's living environment by exclusion, reducing food, water and harborage. |
Is pest management performed on a specific schedule? |
Monthly or Biweekly service, depending on the problem. Each case is different. Most monitoring and inspection is done on a
regular basis. |
How are pest problems identified? |
Identification of a pest is done using a microscope in the field and office. Local university extension is used if needed. |
What practices
do you use to prevent and/or control pests? |
First, we inspect the area. Then sanitation, vacuuming and monitoring are done. Chemicals are used only as a last resort. I
spend a lot of time on monitoring and exclusion. |
Do you
use biological controls? |
We have used nematodes for termites and praying mantis for garden insects. |
Yes, borate products including
Niban, Boracare and Timbor are used for carpenter ants, powder post beetles and termite
spot treatments. |
Do you
use synthetic chemicals? |
What
are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend? |
Boric acid, Niban bait, Maxforce FC bait gels and stations, Pre-empt roach gel,
Timbor, Boracare and plant oil. |
If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each? |
We only use pesticides as a last resort. Most calls are abated with mechanical traps, vacuuming, monitors and insect traps. |
Does
your company perform habitat modification? |
Yes. Installation of vents in crawl spaces. For termites and carpenter ants, removal of high moisture problems, wood piles and
improved drainage. |
Do you
use any physical or mechanical controls? |
Yes, with vacuum cleaners,
heatguns, traps, caulk guns, stuffit wire mesh and bind devices. |
What
type of fertilizers do you use/sell/recommend? |
What
do you usually use/sell/recommend for addressing: |
termites |
Termite shield, moisture control and borates. |
cockroaches |
Cleaning, vacuuming, steam treatments and baits. |
carpenter

Inspect and remove moisture. |
