What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

Our IPM program is a common sense approach that relies on monitoring, determination of tolerance threshold, preventions, and lastly, controls.

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?

We use phenology to determine when disease will begin to be an issue.

How are pest problems identified?

We monitor visually and with traps. Treatment is made only if necessary (customer demands, economic loss).

What practices do you use to prevent and/or control pests?

We rely on environmental/cultural practices as our main control. Applications are only made as a last resort.

Do you use biological controls?

Nematodes, Bt, beneficial insect populations.

Do you use borates?

Do you use synthetic chemicals?

Unfortunately - part of our customer base is unwilling to expand their limited focus on mainstream chemical propaganda.

What are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend?

We use a limited amount of Roundup (glyphosate), insecticidal soaps, and horticultural oil. We periodically are asked for synthetic fungicides.

If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each?

Spot spray or granular, less than 1000 lbs of solution or total product weight.

Does your company perform habitat modification?

We use catch crops when possible and occasionally limit troublesome plant materials that are not treatable.

Do you use any physical or mechanical controls?

Pruning and hand removal. Colorado potato beetle, caterpillar removal.

What type of fertilizers do you use/sell/recommend?

Sustaine, ICT organics, Nutrients Plus, Neptune's Harvest.

What do you usually use/sell/recommend for addressing:

termites DNR

cockroaches DNR

fleas DNR

carpenter ants DNR

fire ants DNR

How do you evaluate effectiveness of your pest management
