What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

Using insects to control populations of other insects, creating a natural balance.

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?

Mostly the pests we deal with are grubs. We use predatory nematodes to reduce the grub populations so no stress is created on the lawn.

How are pest problems identified?

Grubs leave dead grass in particular patterns. we most definitely monitor before and after we apply nematodes. We monitored by keeping track of the growth of grass in the once infected area of the lawn.

What practices do you use to prevent and/or control pests?

Nemotodes for grubs and compost tea also for grubs and other pests. Also we use diatomaceous earth.

Do you use biological controls?

Nematodes, milky spore and beneficial bacteria and fungi.

Do you use borates?

Do you use synthetic chemicals?

NO-NEVER any. Synthetic chemicalswill kill the microbial life we work hard to establish.

What are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend?

None- never.

If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each?

0 gallons/none

Does your company perform habitat modification?

Do you use any physical or mechanical controls?

We do aeration and we mow electrically.

What type of fertilizers do you use/sell/recommend?

Compost tea, compost, humic acid, corn gluten, green sand.

What do you usually use/sell/recommend for addressing:

termites Nematodes

cockroaches DNR

fleas Diatomaceous earth

carpenter ants Same

fire ants n/a

ants (indoor) DE

crabgrass overseeding/corn gluten

dandelions Same

other reducing the photosynthesis of undesired plants/weeds

How do you evaluate effectiveness of your pest management

Superior! because it's nature working in balance with nature. Any synthetic will disrupt that balance so they can't be used not even a little!
