We are an organic based lawn care provider that encourages that every customer strive for a pesticide-free lawn. Our PureLawn program uses premium organic fertilizers and is safe for children and pets.

What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

Using the least amount of pesticides, if any, as possible. We communicate with our customers about their expectations concerning pests, seeking alternative methods to reduce or eliminate those pests, and doing all of this in an environmentally responsible way.

Is pest management performed on a specific schedule?

On a per customer basis. We encourage increased monitoring as opposed to prevention programs that apply blanket herbicide applications that are unnecessary.

How are pest problems identified?

Our trained technicians monitor and identify pest problems. We monitor as much as possible; however, we provide free service calls and encourage our customers to help monitor and communicate if a problem arises.

What practices do you use to prevent and/or control pests?

Prevention includes using good cultural practices (such as mowing, aeration, overseeding).

Do you use biological controls?

Did not respond (DNR).

Do you use borates?

No.

Do you use synthetic chemicals?

Horticultural oil, insecticidal soaps, Roundup (glyphosate). Synthetic chemicals are used only sparingly, for customers that request them.

What are the top 10 pesticides you use/sell/recommend?

Momentum, Drive, Manage

If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each?

We spot treat weeds as needed for customers who request this service.

Does your company perform habitat modification?

No.

Do you use any physical or mechanical controls?

We suggest high mowing heights, proper watering, and organic fertilizer to help soil life.

What type of fertilizers do you use/sell/recommend?

We use premium organic fertilizers that feed the soil and turf, where as traditional lawn care companies primarily feed the turf through the tips of the grass, with chemicals. Our organic fertilizers feed organic matter to beneficial microorganisms and the root system in your soil. Instead of depleting the biological activity (which is crucial for a healthy soil), we are increasing the activity, not destroying it.

What do you usually use/sell/recommend for addressing:

termites DNR

cockroaches DNR

fleas Diatomaceous earth, garlic, and pyrethrins.

carpenter ants DNR.

fire ants DNR.

ants (indoor) DNR.

crabgrass Corn gluten.

dandelions Beet extract

other Beet extract for broadleaf weeds.

How do you evaluate effectiveness of your pest management

Our effectiveness is accepted amongst educated customers who believe that safer lawns that aren't necessarily perfect are worth the trade-off.
