What
is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)? |
Treating
insect and disease problems by examining the true problem and what
is causing it. If treatments are needed, the least-toxic methods are
used first. Nothing stronger than organic-based products are needed. |
Is pest management performed on a specific schedule? |
Yes
- by monitoring feeding and disease, preventative applications are
scheduled. Insects are treated if needed on a case by case basis. |
How are pest problems identified? |
Pests
are identified visually. Seasonal trends are highlighted during scouting.
We monitor before and after visually on site. Samples can also be
brought back to the office microscope or to a lab to a plant pathologist
is needed. |

do you use to prevent and/or control pests? |
Cultural
recommendations and select spraying. |
Do you
use biological controls? |
Beneficial

use synthetic chemicals? |

All
regular visit treatments are all organic. Merit
(imidacloprid) is used supplementally for large trees with aphid
problems. |

If pesticides are used, how much are used per year of each? |

your company perform habitat modification? |

insects or disease. |

use any physical or mechanical controls? |
Traps,
bands, lures, core aeration. |
What
type of fertilizers do you use/sell/recommend? |
Blood
meal, bone-meal based fertilizers from local sources. |
What
do you usually use/sell/recommend for addressing: |

pull
them and seed to thicken |
dandelions |

How do
you evaluate effectiveness of your pest management |
The
best! Our landscapes are lush, healthy and strong. Direct comparisons
with other yards not being fed and cared for organically reveal many
more insect and disease problems and health problems. |
