What is your definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

Decision-making process that uses monitoring to determine pest levels and set thresholds, uses cultural, mechanical, physical, biological and educational methods to manage pests at acceptable levels. Uses least-toxic chemical methods as a last resort . Uses monitoring to determine effectiveness of treatment actions and evaluate IPM strategy.

Monitoring is performed on a specific schedule, but not treatment action.

How are pest problems identified?

Pests are indentified through monitoring and identification of pests. They are monitored through direct field observation.

Monitor, cultural, physical, mechanical, biological and edcational methods
