1. People recognize that it is a human right not to be poisoned by pesticides.<\/font><\/p>\n

2. There is a growing movement toward pesticide-free communities.<\/font><\/p>\n

3. Individuals, institutions, corporations and governments routinely use alternative methods.<\/font><\/p>\n

4. Organic and green food labels are a substantial market.<\/font><\/p>\n

5. Medical, public health and health-impacted communities help lead the pesticide reform movement.<\/font><\/p>\n

6. The connection between chronic health issues, such as cancer, and pesticide exposure is better understood by the general public and health care community.<\/font><\/p>\n

7. Health care providers can readily identify illnesses that are related to pesticides, and affected people receive appropriate treatment.<\/font><\/p>\n

8. Governments at all levels enact new appropriately restrictive laws and regulations prohibiting the use of toxic pesticides.<\/font><\/p>\n

9. There is an improved legal recognition of cradle-to-grave impacts (from production to use) and responsibility and accountability.<\/font><\/p>\n

Beyond Pesticides provides hands-on services to the public and supports local action by: identifying and interpreting hazards; and, designing safe pest management programs. With the information provided by Beyond Pesticides, people may not only be able to make informed choices and adopt practices that protect themselves and their families from unnecessary exposure to pesticides, but they will be able to effect changes on community-wide pest management decisions and policies that govern pesticide use, such as pesticide uses in parks, schools, for community insect control and along roadsides.
