The commonsense nontoxic advice should be heeded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoid close contact with people who are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.<\/li>\n<li>Stay home when you are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.<\/li>\n<li>Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.<\/li>\n<li>Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Soap and water\u2014or, if washing is not possible, using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol\u2014is as effective as stronger chemicals.
