Jeannie Economos is Pesticide Safety and Environmental Health Project Coordinator for the Farmworker Association of Florida. Jeannie has worked for over 35 years on issues of the environment, environmental justice, indigenous and immigrants’ rights, labor, peace, and social and farmworker justice. She has worked for the Farmworker Association of Florida for 20 years, in addition to another 5 years as a volunteer with the organization. Since 2007, she has been the Pesticide Safety and Environmental Health Project Coordinator of FWAF, working at the grassroots with farmworkers for their health and safety protections, and working statewide and nationally for policy change related to the health risks of pesticide and heat exposures. Her work includes farmworker leadership development and immigrants’ rights, and advocacy for climate and food justice, agroecology, and food sovereignty.
