Get
Out and Vote!
(Beyond Pesticides, November 2, 2004) Today is
Election Day, and Beyond Pesticides is encouraging its members, friends
and anyone else visiting this web page to get out and vote for the President
that will lead the U.S. for the next four years, as well as your local
and state elected officials. Most polling places open between 6:00 and
7:00 am and close between 7:00 and 8:00 pm, but you should check with
the Federal
Elections Commission for the exact times in your state.
Polling place location in each community is determined by local election officials. Your polling place should be listed on your voter registration card. But if you are not sure, contact your county election official (County/ Municipal Clerk, Supervisor of Elections, or Board/ Commission of Elections), which is usually listed in the “Blue Pages” of your local phone book.
Because of the important issues on the table and the differing visions of the candidates, this year’s presidential election has been called one of the most important in U.S. history. Because the President plays such a pivitol role in setting our national environmental and public health policy, with regards to pesticides and other environmental contaminants, through policy, regulation and political appointments, Beyond Pesticides urges you to learn about the candidates and vote for a future that is protective of human health and the environment.
