Workplace Giving
Workplace giving is an easy, affordable, and efficient way for employees to make tax-deductible donations to charities through payroll deduction, as well as increasing their impact through employer matching programs. Beyond Pesticides participates in many programs, including EarthShare, Benevity, America’s Charities, Network for Good, United Way, Kaiser Foundation Employee Giving, and others.
The Combined Federal Campaign donation ID code for Beyond Pesticides is "11429." Make sure to indicate this number on the CFC donation form distributed by your federal employer.
Planned Giving
Build your legacy by helping to create a world free of toxic fossil fuel-based pesticides and synthetic fertilizer and a sustainable future for generations to come. By including Beyond Pesticides in your will, trust, retirement plans, or investment accounts, you will provide enduring support for people and the planet. Here is sample wording to include Beyond Pesticides in your will or estate plans:
“After taking care of all expenses, debts, and other specific provisions, I give, devise, and bequeath ___% of the rest and residue [or $___ if a specific amount] to Beyond Pesticides, a Washington, DC-based 501(c)3 environmental nonprofit [Tax ID# 52-1360541] with its headquarters at 701 E Street, SE, Suite 200, DC 20003.“
Stock Gifts
Donating appreciated securities is easy and has enormous impact. Furthermore, you may avoid capital gains tax, receive a sizable charitable deduction, and have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to create a sustainable future without toxic pesticides when you give traded stocks, bonds and mutual funds. For the maximum tax savings, donate securities outright rather than selling them beforehand. Consult a tax professional to learn about optimizing your tax savings for your specific situation.
Retirement Plans
You can designate Beyond Pesticides as a beneficiary of all or part of your 401(k), IRA, or other qualified plan to fuel our work towards a world free of toxic pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. Request a Designation of Beneficiary Form from your retirement plan administrator and complete as directed.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (IRA)
Qualified charitable distributions (QCD) allow individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $100,000 tax free to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
Donor Advised Funds
Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are a popular way to give and provide donors a tax-efficient way to manage charitable donations. This method allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund over time.
Honor or Memorial Giving
This option offers a meaningful way to provide lasting tributes to loved ones and create a lasting impact for future generations and our planet. Simply check the “I’d like to make this contribution in honor or in memory of someone” box on the donation form and complete the rest of the form.
1% for the Planet
1% for the Planet was founded to prevent greenwashing, certify reputable giving, and provide accountability. The 1% for the Planet certification is given to businesses that meet their high-bar commitment—donate 1% of annual sales to environmental causes. They advise on giving strategies, certify donations, and amplify the impact of their network. Beyond Pesticides has been selected as an environmental partner, which enables 1% for the Planet business members to make gifts to Beyond Pesticides as part of their 1% commitment. Learn more.
