Definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Real integrated pest management (as applies to lawn & landscape) is creating healthy plants and soil first using organic fertilizers. Then using proper cultural practices. When problems arise, look to natural solutions first, especially biological or botanical products and use chemicals as a last resort (spot treating if possible).
