Definition of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

We use OPM - Organic Pest Management - the natural form of IPM. We provide soil testing, use of amendments/fertilizers, pruning and natural weed control (all cultural practices) before the use of organic pesticides (such as beneficial insect release, Bt followed by pesticides made with organic derivatives)

How Pest Problems Are Identified

We use a 30X scope to check the emergence of hemlock wooly aldegids from the cotton white egg satches and use various Delta Wing Traps (sticky traps) as well as various colored sticky traps (white, blue, red and yellow) to catch and hold insects for identification.
